Guide to Universal Studios Hollywood

Located near Hollywood in Los Angeles, California, Universal Studios Hollywood opened in 1964 and started Universal’s theme park business.

There are a few hotels adjacent to the park. While the hotels offer shuttles, you can probably walk to the park faster than waiting for the shuttle to pick you up and drop you off.
If you’ve been to Universal Studios Orlando, you will have done some of the attractions and can safely skip those. However, Universal has started adding more unique attractions in each park.
You can experience this park on a single day, especially if you visit on a quiet day, purchase Universal Express, or visit Universal Orlando and don’t need to repeat some attractions.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is a motion-based dark ride. You enter the attraction through Hogwarts Castle! You can also find the attraction at Universal Studios Orlando, Universal Studios Japan, and Universal Studios Beijing.
Jurassic World: The Ride is a shoot-the-chute water ride. It was updated in 2021 with Jurassic World theming.
The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash is a fun dark ride that opened in 2021.
Whatever you do, don’t miss the Studio Tour on the Upper Lot; this is one of the top theme park attractions worldwide and unique to this park.
Transformers: The Ride 3D is a 3D dark ride. Nearly identical versions are at Universal Studios Singapore, Universal Studios Florida, and Universal Studios Beijing.
Waterworld: A Live Sea War Spectacular is a stunt show themed after the 1995 film Waterworld. You don’t need to have seen the film to enjoy the show!
