Disney has announced that their two new shows at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After,” will debut on May 27, 2025.

The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure

The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure is a fully reimagined show at the Animation Courtyard Theater. The former show, “Voyage of The Little Mermaid,” debuted on January 7, 1992, and ran until March 15, 2020. The new show will combine puppets, props, and scenery with new songs, digital puppetry, and special effects. The songs that are returning to the musical include “Under the Sea” and “Part of Your World,” and the new songs are “Daughters of Triton” and “Kiss the Girl.”

The new show was announced in December 2023 and was planned to open in Fall 2024.

Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After

Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After is a new show at the Sunset Showcase Theater featuring Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent. The show has cutting-edge stage design and was in development for two years. Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy closed on October 7, 2024, to make way for the new Villains show.

The new show was announced in September 2024 and was planned to open in the Summer of 2025.
