Details Revealed for Dark Universe at Universal Epic Universe
Universal Orlando Resort has released details for Dark Universe, one of the five worlds at the Universal Epic Universe theme park, opening in 2025. The world will include attractions, character meet-and-greets, dining, and shopping inspired by classic Universal monsters like Dracula, The Wolf Man, Frankenstein’s Monster, and the Bride of Frankenstein.
Guests will enter Dark Universe through its electrifying portal and emerge in the village of Darkmoor, a ravaged village within the land.
Attractions
Dark Universe will include three attractions: two rides and one experience.
Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment is a state-of-the-art dark ride where guests are taken deep into Frankenstein Manor, where Dr. Victoria Frankenstein conducts her experiments. The story is that guests are invited to witness a demonstration of her ability to control monsters, but plans go awry.
Curse of the Werewolf is a spinning family coaster in the woods at the edge of Darkmoor. The attraction is inspired by the story “The Wolfman,” and guests are racing to escape werewolves while on the coaster.
The Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience allows guests to showcase their fandom for Universal Monsters by becoming one! Guests can don elaborate face paint and temporary tattoos.
Dining
Dark Universe will feature two dining locations and a walk-up location.
Das Stakehaus is a dining hall run by vampire “familiars.” The dining location will feature artwork and artifacts detailing the history of the village’s creatures of the night. The menu includes kebabs, burgers, sandwiches, and more.
The Burning Blade Tavern is themed as a hangout for monster hunters inside the burning windmill building. The menu includes burgers, wings, bratwurst, pretzels, and specialty beverages.
De Lacey’s Cottage is a food stand that sells snacks and cool treats, such as cinnamon bread, ice cream, twisted taters, and more.
Shopping
Pretorius’ Scientific Oddities is a retail location offering commemorative merchandise and mementos.
Meet and Greets

Park guests will be able to meet characters, including Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s Monster and the Bride of Frankenstein. In addition, there will be many roaming characters like Victoria Frankenstein’s servant, Ygor, The Invisible Man, an eccentric monster hunter, and a talented musician with songs and tales of the classic Universal Monsters stories.
