Details Revealed for Super Nintendo World at Universal Epic Universe
Universal Orlando Resort has released details for Super Nintendo World, one of the five worlds at the Universal Epic Universe theme park, opening in 2025. The world will include attractions, character meet-and-greets, dining, and shopping inspired by the Super Mario franchise.
Guests will enter Super Nintendo World through the iconic green pipe and emerge in Super Mario Land. Donkey Kong Country is a new area at the edge of Super Mario Land.
Super Mario Land
Super Mario Land will feature two attractions, dining locations, shops, and character meet-and-greet experiences.
Attractions
Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge will be an augmented reality ride where guests join Team Mario and battle Team Bowser for the Golden Cup. The attraction currently operates at Super Nintendo World areas at Universal Studios Japan (as Mario Kart: Koopa's Challenge) and Universal Studios Hollywood.
Yoshi’s Adventure will be a family-friendly ride where guests ride Yoshis around Super Mario Land, searching for glowing eggs. The attraction is also located at Universal Studios Japan’s Super Nintendo World.
Dining
Toadstool Cafe will be a restaurant where Toads cook culinary creations like Mario and Luigi-themed burgers, Super Mushroom Soup, Piranha Plant Caprese, and Fire Flower Spaghetti and Meatballs.
Yoshi’s Snack Island and Turbo Boost Treats will be walk-up locations with treats, snacks, and beverages.
Shopping
1-UP Factory and Mario Motors will offer souvenirs, apparel, toys, and more.
Meet and Greets
In various areas of Super Mario Land, guests can meet, greet, and interact with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad.
Donkey Kong Country
The entrance to Donkey Kong Country will be at the edge of Super Mario Land. The land will feature a “lush, tropical landscape,” including tall trees, waterfalls, and landmarks from the video game series.
The new area will feature one attraction, tropical menu items, and merchandise options.
Mine-Cart Madness is a new family coaster themed to the mine carts seen in the Donkey Kong video game series.
Guests will hop into a mine cart and careen through the jungle to help Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong protect the coveted golden banana on this first-of-its-kind family coaster. Utilizing an unprecedented ride system, innovative technology and a unique coaster design, Mine-Cart Madness will send riders on a thrilling adventure where they will experience the jaw-dropping maneuvers that they’ve seen Donkey Kong and the mine carts perform in the video games – including getting blasted out of a barrel, seemingly jumping over gaps as they speed along a rickety track, and so much more.
As previously announced in September 2024, a Donkey Kong area is also coming to Universal Studios Japan.
Power-Up Bands
Guests can purchase a Power-Up Band to enable additional experiences. The Power-Up Band will behave similarly to the Super Nintendo World areas at Universal Studios Japan and Universal Studios Hollywood.
With the Power-Up Band, guests can collect digital coins by punching ? Blocks and playing interactive activities; collect digital stamps on attractions; earn digital keys to unlock an exclusive showdown against Bowser Jr.; and discover other hidden surprises. Guests can also access Leaderboard screens in SUPER NINTENDO WORLD to see where they rank amongst fellow guests.
