New Artwork for Disneyland Resort Avatar Experience

Disney has released new inspirational artwork for the Avatar experience previously announced for Disneyland Resort. The artwork resembles the Cove of the Ancestors from 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water and features park guests overlooking lush scenery, including waterfalls, sea creatures, and floating mountains. In the water, a group of park guests is in a wooden raft, implying that Disney is considering a water ride as part of the experience.

Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed the artwork during the 2024 Annual Meeting of Shareholders Webcast on April 3, 2024. After the webcast, Josh D’Amaro (Chairman of Disney Experiences) shared it on the Disney Parks Blog.

Josh D’Amaro seemingly connected the Avatar experience with the DisneylandForward project.

We are excited about the stories our guests could experience at Walt’s original theme park destination after approval of DisneylandForward – including the chance to experience all-new Avatar adventures with a visit to Pandora.

As we posted about recently, DisneylandForward is pending a vote by the Anaheim City Council, expected on April 16, 2024. Anaheim is hosting an “informational open house” on April 10th, ahead of the vote.
