The Disney Treasure is a Love Letter to Disney Park Fans
Disney has revealed many details about the Disney Treasure, which is set to become the 6th ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. The details were announced in a “virtual grand video” that debuted on Tuesday, September 5th.
Fans of Disney Parks will love that the Disney Treasure will feature explicit tie-ins to Disney Parks attractions. Lou Mongello called the Disney Treasure “a love letter to Disney park fans” on WDW Radio podcast episode #743.
The Disney Treasure follows the Disney Wish as the 2nd of three “Wish” class ships. All three ships are expected to share the same structure and general layout.
The Disney Wish and Disney Treasure will unsurprisingly share some of the same dining and entertainment options, but let’s review everything announced (so far) to the Disney Treasure!
Itineraries
The Disney Treasure will initially sail seven-night Western and Eastern Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral, Florida (one hour east of Orlando). Since it’s a longer itinerary, guests will, by default, dine at least twice at the three rotational dining restaurants.
Dining
Three rotational dining experiences:
Worlds of Marvel – A Marvel dinner show featuring two different presentations: Avengers: Quantum Encounter (same as the Disney Wish) and a second to-be-announced show.
1923 – An homage to the year the Walt Disney Company was founded, with particular attention to Walt Disney Studios. The Disney Treasure will highlight storyboards, sketches, and props from adventure-themed movies like Tarzan, The Lion King, and Aladdin.
Plaza de Coco (Arrendelle on the Disney Wish) – A Coco-themed theatrical dining experience featuring one night with Miguel and a mariachi band and a second night with a Dia de los Muertos celebration with Mamá Coco, Abuelita and the rest of the Rivera family.
Every guest will also have an extra night in one of the restaurants for the famous “Pirate Night” with its pirate menu.
The additional-fee adult restaurants, Palo Steakhouse and Enchante, will be on the Disney Treasure like on the Disney Wish.
Jumbeaux's Sweets (Joyful Sweets on the Disney Wish), inspired by Jumbeaux's Cafe in the movie "Zootopia," will be the ship’s additional-fee ice cream and candy shop.
Marceline Market will feature breakfast and lunch buffets (same as the Disney Wish).
Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods will feature counter-service food (same as the Disney Wish).
Two specialty walkup cafes with coffee, tea, and snacks:
Jade Cricket Cafe featuring “Mulan” theming.
Heihei Cafe featuring “Moana” theming.
Lounges
The Rose Bar will be the accompanying lounge to Palo and Enchante (same as on the Disney Wish).
The Periscope Pub (Keg and Compass on the Disney Wish) will be themed to Jules Verne's "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” and the associated 1954 Disney movie and former theme park attraction.
The Skipper Society (The Bayou on the Disney Wish) will be themed to the Jungle Cruise from Disney Parks.
Many lounges have yet to be announced. Several podcasts and sources suggest that the Hyperspace Lounge space from the Disney Wish could become a Haunted Mansion bar on the Treasure.
Entertainment
Three Broadway-style shows: (1) Beauty and the Beast, (2) Seas the Adventure, and (3) a to-be-announced brand-new production.
The AquaMouse water slide will also feature a new adventure-themed show called "Curse of the Golden Egg.” The show will rotate with the two other shows that debuted on Disney Wish’s AquaMouse.
Sarabi (Luna on the Disney Wish) will be a two-story multipurpose entertainment theater themed to The Lion King.
The kid’s clubs (Oceaneer Club, Vibe, and Edge) will all be identical to Disney Wish’s offerings. The slide from the grand hall to the Oceaneer Club will be themed to The Jungle Book.
Cabins and Accommodations
The ship’s 1256 cabins and suites will be themed to adventure and exploration. "Aladdin," "Pocahontas," "Finding Nemo," "Up," "Luca" and "Encanto” will be used for the cabin theming. The “Lion King” will be used for the concierge suite theming. The tigers from “The Jungle Book” and “Aladdin” will be used for the royal suite theming.
The 2000-square-foot Tower Suite will be called the “Tomorrow Tower Suite.” EPCOT will inspire its design details.
The Disney Treasure will start sailing in December 2024.
