WDW Reopening Details! Attractions, Entertainment, Reservations, and More

Walt Disney World is getting ready for guests, and the announcements are rolling in!

Reservation System Details

  • The Disney Park Pass System will be used for reservations.

  • No park hopping will be available. If you have a park hopper ticket, you can cancel, modify, or get a refund for the park hopping.

  • The reservation system opens:

    • June 22 for Disney Resort and other select hotel guests (e.g., Swan and Dolphin, Four Seasons Resort Orlando, Disney Springs area resorts)

    • June 26 for Annual Passholders

    • June 28 for ticket holders

  • Annual Passholders will be limited to 3 reservations at a time without resort reservations.

  • There’s no confirmation on when you can make reservations, but according to Carlye Wisel, it’s looking like it could be 7 AM ET / 4 AM PT just like FastPass+ reservations.

Attractions and Entertainment

Disney announced that most attractions will be available at the parks.

  • Many shows will not be open, including:

    • Frozen Sing-Along Celebration⁣⁣⁣

    • Indiana Jones Stunt Show⁣⁣⁣

    • Finding Nemo The Musical⁣⁣⁣

    • UP! A Great Bird Adventure

    • Beauty and the Beast - Live

    • Voyage of the Little Mermaid⁣⁣⁣

  • Nearly every attraction will reopen except for Primeval Whirl, the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, Star Wars Launch Bay, and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor.

  • Spaceship Earth will be open! The refurbishment was officially pushed back.

  • In-park entertainment like the Main Street Vehicles, The Boneyard, Casey Jr. Splash ‘n’ Soak and Shootin’ Arcade will likely not be open.

  • Savi’s Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers will likely not be open.

  • Character meet and greets are being reimagined for social distancing.

Annual Pass Extensions and Magnets

  • Wallt Disney World APs have been extended in My Disney Experience. All guests should see that 4 months were added to their old expiration date.

  • 1 additional month will be added to APs in October 2020.

  • Passholders will get 1 complimentary magnet mailed to them (one per household).

No More Complimentary MagicBands

  • Complimentary MagicBands will be retired in 2021 because guests will have all of the same features in the My Disney Experience app.

  • Guests can still purchase MagicBands as an add-on. This information was from Scott Gustin on Twitter.

WDW Preview Dates

  • Cast Member Preview (MK/DAK): July 7-8

  • Annual Passholder Preview (MK/DAK): July 9-10

  • Park Reopen (MK/DAK): July 11

  • Cast Member Preview (DHS/EPCOT): July 13-14

  • Park Reopen (DHS/EPCOT): July 15
