Splash Mountain Will Be Re-Imagined to The Princess and the Frog

Disney Imagineering is re-theming Splash Mountain at both Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom. The attraction will be themed to the 2009 film “The Princess and the Frog.” The Disney Parks Blog has released more info about the attraction’s story:

We pick up this story after the final kiss, and join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.

“The Princess and the Frog” is set in New Orleans, making the re-theme perfect for Disneyland as Splash Mountain sits adjacent to New Orleans Square. However, Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World is squarely in Frontierland and presents a challenge for Walt Disney Imagineering to connect the themes.
