Shanghai Disney opened on June 16, 2016, and is the newest Disney park in the world. It is located in Pudong, Shanghai, and is the first Disney resort in mainland China. The resort is jointly owned and operated by the Shanghai Shendi Group (57%) and Disney (43%).

Shanghai currently has one theme park: Shanghai Disneyland Park.

Travel Tips

  • Shanghai Disneyland is 24 minutes from Shanghai Pudong International Airport.

  • There are two hotels at the resort:

    • Shanghai Disneyland Hotel

    • Toy Story Hotel

Must-Do Attractions

  • The Alice in Wonderland Maze is a unique walkthrough attraction that is only available in Shanghai and at Disneyland Paris.

  • Most Disney Parks fans agree that Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure is the best version of the classic attraction, which debuted at Disneyland in 1967.

  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is nearly identical to the popular attraction at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.

  • TRON Lightcycle Power Run is the original version of the TRON coaster at Walt Disney World.

  • The Voyage to the Crystal Grotto is a tow boat ride that takes riders inside the castle and past characters from popular Disney movies.
