SeaWorld San Antonio was opened on May 27, 1988, and is the largest SeaWorld by acreage (250). The park opened as Sea World of Texas.

Aquatica San Antonio is the accompanying water park that opened in May 2012.

Travel Tips

  • SeaWorld San Antonio is 20 minutes from the San Antonio International Airport (SAT).

  • Six Flags Fiesta Texas is 17 minutes from SeaWorld San Antonio.

Must-Do Attractions

  • The Great White was SeaWorld San Antonio’s first coaster. It’s a Bolliger & Mabillard steel inverted coaster, the first inverted coaster in Texas, and it opened in February 1997.

  • Steel Eel is a D. H. Morgan Manufacturing steel coaster that opened on March 6, 1999. It features a drop of 150 feet and reaches a top speed of 65 mph.

  • Texas Stingray is a Great Coasters International wooden coaster that opened on February 22, 2020. It was designed by Dustin Sloane from Skyline Attractions. It features a 100-foot drop and has a top speed of 55 mph.

  • Tidal Surge is the world’s largest S&S Screamin’ Swing. It reaches a maximum height of 105 feet and a maximum speed of 68 mph.

  • Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster is an Intamin family launch coaster that opened on June 16, 2017, and was the first “jet ski coaster” in North America.
