Guide to SeaWorld Orlando
Orlando was chosen as the third location of SeaWorld because of the success of Walt Disney World. SeaWorld Orlando officially opened on December 15, 1973. The second SeaWorld location was a seasonal park in Ohio, which opened in 1970 and closed in 2000.
Aquatica Orlando is the accompanying water park that opened in 2008.
Discovery Cove is an immersive experience that includes a coral reef, swimming with dolphins, and an aviary; it opened on July 1, 2000.
Travel Tips
As of 2024, SeaWorld does not have an official hotel, but it has partner hotels that can offer perks like free shuttles, quick queues, and early access; you may have to visit a concierge to receive those benefits.
If you stay at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld, you can walk to the park in a few minutes. However, you must cross a busy street and the SeaWorld parking lot.
