Wreck-It Ralph Attraction Replacing Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters at Tokyo Disneyland

The Oriental Land Co., Ltd.. has announced that a new Wreck-It Ralph family attraction will replace Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters at Tokyo Disneyland Park. The Buzz Lightyear attraction will close in October 2024, and the Wreck-It Ralph attraction will open in 2026.

According to a press release from Oriental Land Co., Ltd., the new Wreck-It Ralph attraction will transform (i.e., adaptive reuse) the existing Buzz Lightyear shooter dark ride. The new theme will be based on the Sugar Rush racing game featured in the film.

In the attraction, enter the candy-themed racing game Sugar Rush, which is being attacked by Sugar Bugs – glitches created by King Candy. Guests team up with the beloved film characters Ralph and Vanellope to transform the Sugar Bugs back to their original “kawaii” confectionery such as cookies and cakes.

The gift shop Planet M will be rethemed to Wreck-It Ralph as part of the updates.
