Good Gravy! A New Family Coaster at Holiday World in 2024
A new family coaster is opening in 2024 at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana.
Good Gravy! is the name of a Vekoma Family Boomerang coaster being built in the Thanksgiving area of the park. Holiday World and “Good Gravy!” will open to season pass holders on May 4 and 5, 2024, and will open to the public on May 11, 2024. The new attraction will be in the former location of Raging Rapids – a 33-year-old raft ride that was retired earlier this year.
Here are some facts about the new coaster:
The train seats two riders per row, has ten rows, and is shaped like a giant gravy boat (!)
The cranberry-colored track goes through a cranberry can-themed tunnel and passes by giant kitchen utensils
Maximum speed: 37 mph
Height: 77 feet
Duration: 65 seconds
Distance traveled: 1500 feet
Height requirement: 38”
The ride will be part of a new area called Stuffing Springs. The new area will have a children’s play area, benches, shade, and a Dippin' Dots stand made from a refurbished 1964 Airstream.
Holiday World officially announced the coaster on social media on Tuesday morning, August 1st. The announcement followed a much-anticipated Top Thrill Dragster announcement from Cedar Point.
The park posted several videos on its YouTube channel including the announcement video, an animated front seat POV, an animated fly-around, and an animated off-ride view.
