Granville Haunt Farm Review - Drive-Through Attraction in NC
The Granville Haunt Farm is a drive-through experience in Oxford, North Carolina. It’s open from sunset till 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays in October. In 2022, it’s also open on Sunday, October 30th, and Halloween night.
The Haunt Farm is close to several cities:
30 minutes from Durham
50 minutes from Raleigh
73 minutes from Greensboro
2 hours from Richmond
2.5 hours from Charlotte
Cost
Here are the costs for 2022 (from the Granville Haunt Farm website):
A vehicle with one passenger: $10
A vehicle with two passengers: $20
A vehicle with three or four passengers: $25
A vehicle with five or more passengers: +$5 per additional person
You can buy tickets online or in person when you arrive. The Haunt Farm may close with heavy rain because the path is not paved.
Experience
The Haunt Farm is unique because you stay in your car the entire time. While waiting to enter, several scare actors wander around to the cars lined up. None of the scare actors can touch you, but they may get close to your car or reach inside.
Once your tickets are scanned, you’ll be instructed when to enter the main attraction. You’ll want to turn your headlights off and roll your windows down so you can interact with the scare actors. You can also tune in to a special FM radio station with themed music.
The drive-through is approximately 20 minutes. You’ll occasionally stop at different scenes and keep pace with the car in front of you. There are many different scenes from popular movies and TV shows! The sets are well done, and you’ll have fun interacting with the actors.
Is it worth it?
The Granville Haunt Farm isn’t nearly as scary as other North Carolina and Virginia haunts. However, it is affordable and a lot of fun! If you’re in the area, you should check it out.
One benefit to being in a car is that if you have scared little ones, they can simply roll up their window and not look outside.
