Carowinds and Kings Dominion Announce Year-Round Operation for 2023

Great news for theme park enthusiasts in North Carolina and Virginia: Carowinds and Kings Dominion will operate year-round starting in 2023.

The additional weekends in January through March have been added to the Carowinds online calendar and the Kings Dominion online calendar.

Carowinds is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2023. A new themed area called Aeronautica Landing was announced on August 11, 2022. The area will be a tribute to the Carolinas’ spirit of invention, exploration, and aviation.

Bridgette Bywater, vice president and general manager of Kings Dominion had this to say about the expanded calendar:

Kings Dominion will be the cure for cabin fever in 2023. We’ve always wanted find a way to extend our season to all 12 months, and now families and season passholders won’t have to wait until the spring for their favorite rides or their first taste of funnel cake.”
