The Disney Wish is a Theme Park at Sea
Disney has revealed some of the exciting new experiences, dining, and entertainment coming to their new ship, the Disney Wish. Here’s a rundown of the announcements:
The AquaMouse is perhaps the first theme park-quality ride on a Disney Cruise Line ship. It seems like it’s a water coaster (e.g., the AquaDuck from the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy) combined with a dark ride!
A Mickey and friends themed area for families, a Toy Story-themed area designed specifically for families with toddlers and young children, and an adults-only area called Quiet Cove.
Themed dining including Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, the Worlds of Marvel “cinematic dining adventure,” and the 1923 restaurant - named after the year The Walt Disney Company was founded.
Various entertainment options including shows at the Grand Hall atrium stage, shows at the Luna entertainment hub, challenges/competitions at the Hero Zone sports arena, Broadway-style shows at The Walt Disney Theatre, and first-run films at the Wonderland and Never Land Cinemas.
Clubs and hangouts for kids including the Marvel Super Hero Academy, Fairytale Hall, and the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab. Tweens and teens can go to Edge (11 to 14) and Vibe (14 to 17).
An adults-only Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge that looks similar to what may be found at the future “Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser” luxury hotel being built near Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
More restaurants and lounges including the Palo Steakhouse, Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement (a three-Michelin-starred chef!), and The Rose lounge.
In addition to all of that, there will be a Senses Spa and 1254 incredible staterooms. The maiden voyage is scheduled for June 9, 2022. Bookings begin on May 27, 2021.
