Details Announced for Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary

On Good Morning America this morning, Disney officially revealed their initial plans for their 50th Anniversary celebration starting on October 1, 2021.

Here are the highlights:

  • Mickey and Minnie will have new outfits

  • At Magic Kingdom, Cinderella’s Castle will feature golden bunting, a 50th-anniversary crest, and a pixie dust effect

  • At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Tree of Life will feature magical fireflies

  • At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there will be “special new touches” coming to the Hollywood Tower Hotel

  • At EPCOT, Spaceship Earth will have a permanent new lighting package that resembles stars in the nighttime sky
