Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway - On-Ride POV and Planning Advice

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is the newest attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World! The trackless dark ride opened on March 4, 2020, in the Chinese Theater at the end of Hollywood Boulevard. Previously, the Great Movie Ride operated in the Chinese Theater from May 1, 1989, to August 13, 2017.

We were lucky enough to ride Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway last week, and we recorded this on-ride POV (do not watch if you are avoiding spoilers):

Are you headed to Disney's Hollywood Studios soon? We have some tips for you:

• If you can get a FastPass, we suggest going for them in this order, assuming you want to ride all three: (1) Slinky Dog Dash, (2) Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and then (3) Mickey & Mickey's Runaway Railway. The Runaway Railway queue moves very quickly, so it's the least painful line.

• If you're planning on getting a Boarding Group for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, then you'll want to arrive at least an hour early at the park. So, make sure to eat breakfast and be prepared to stand in a line for some time.

  • If you're staying at an Epcot area resort, then you'll likely want to walk over. If you're staying at a different Disney resort, then you should take a bus. Whatever you do, do not take the Skyliner or a Friendship boat because you'll likely arrive too late to get a Boarding Group.

  • When you make it through the gates, head straight to either the Slinky Dog Dash or the Millennium Falcon queue, assuming you want to ride them. Hopefully, you have a FastPass for one or the other.
