Get Ready to Ride Horizons from EPCOT Center in 3D
Do you remember Horizons from EPCOT Center? The dark ride was open from October 1, 1983, to January 9, 1999, with one year of renovations in 1995. The concept was intended to be a sequel to the Carousel of Progress from the 1964 New York World’s Fair (now located in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom), and showed what life was like in the 21st century.
Since its removal and replacement with Mission: SPACE, Horizons has developed a cult following. There are various home video recordings of the attraction, and even a 25-minute documentary called Remain Seated: The Untold Story of Two Daring Disney Fans.
Now, thanks to RetroWDW.com, Disney park fans can experience the defunct attraction in HD or 3D! Check out RetroWDW’s announcement to make sure you have the right gear. A tripod-mounted recording was used to the create the ride-through, and it will premier on March 25, 2020, at 9 PM Eastern
