Universal Japan's Super Nintendo World to Open February 4, 2021

The world’s first Super Nintendo World will open to guests on February 4, 2021, at Universal Studios Japan as part of the park’s 20th-anniversary celebration.

The new land will feature two rides:

  1. Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge: The world’s first Mario Kart-themed ride. You’ll race alongside Mario and Peach in a five-minute-long ride experience with 4 people per ride vehicle.

  2. Yoshi’s Adventure: You’ll climb aboard Yoshi’s back and hunt for 3 colored eggs that lead to a Golden Egg that Captain Toad was seeking. The ride is 5 minutes long and allows for 2 people per ride vehicle.

In addition to the rides, you can buy a “power-up band” and try the “power-up band key challenge” where guests collect three keys throughout the new land. You can also use your band to college coins and stamps.

Universal Studios Japan submitted an official news release on November 30, 2020.
