Opening date for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the new Epcot films, and more!

The Disney Parks Blog made several big announcements on Tuesday night.

Here are the updates for Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

  • Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open on March 4, 2020, at the Chinese Theater. The attraction is the replacement for The Great Movie Ride, which closed on August 13, 2017.

  • The Star Wars hotel, aka Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, is now officially slated to open in 2021. Read more about it at DisneyWorld.com.

  • The Mickey Shorts Theater will open in March 2020 with an original Mickey short film in the modern style from the Disney Channel.

  • The Roundup Rodeo BBQ Restaurant is on schedule to open sometime in 2020.

And here are the Epcot announcements:

  • Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is on schedule for summer 2020 at Epcot’s France pavilion. The Disney Parks Blog shared a photo of imagineers working on the attraction.

  • Three new films will debut on January 17, 2020, when the Epcot International Festival of the Arts kicks off. In the France pavilion, the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along will be rotated a new 4K version of “Impressions de France.” In the Canada pavilion, Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360 will feature narration by Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy (we’ll miss Martin Short). In the Land pavilion, Awesome Planet will be a new 10-minute film about the Earth. Read more about the new films.

  • Disney’s DuckTales World Showcase Adventure was announced for the Play Disney Parks mobile app. Read more.

  • The Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue will open this winter at The American Adventure.

  • The Space 220 Restaurant will open this winter next to Mission: SPACE.
