Guide to Six Flags Parks
The Six Flags Entertainment Corporation operates 27 amusement parks, 15 water parks, and nine resort properties across 17 states in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. On July 1, 2024, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation finalized a merger between Cedar Fair L.P. and the former Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.
Six Flags’ history dates back to the 1950s when Angus G. Wynne visited Disneyland and was inspired to build his park in his home state of Texas. Six Flags Over Texas opened in 1961.
Cedar Fair’s history dates back to 1870 when Cedar Point opened as a recreational area. Since then, Cedar Fair has acquired many parks, including Knott’s Berry Farm in 1997 and all five Paramount Parks in 2006.
