Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is the smallest Disney resort in the world. It opened on September 12, 2005, as a partnership between the Government of Hong Kong and Disney. The government of Hong Kong owns most of the resort (53%), but the Disney company is the operator.

While expansions are planned for the resort, it currently has just one theme park: Hong Kong Disneyland.

Travel Tips

  • You can stay at one of three themed Disney resort hotels:

    • Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel

    • Disney's Hollywood Hotel

    • Disney Explorers Lodge

  • The Mass Transit Railway (MTR) is the best way to get to Hong Kong Disneyland. The Disneyland Resort Line on the MTR features special Disney-themed trains.

Must-Do Attractions

  • Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! is a Marvel-themed shooting dark ride unique to Hong Kong Disneyland. it opened on March 31, 2019.

  • Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars is a Vekoma mine train coaster that opened on July 14, 2012. The attraction features an 88-foot-tall mountain and animatronic bears.

  • A roundtrip ride on the Hong Kong Disneyland Railroad is a fantastic way to familiarize yourself with the park.

  • The Iron Man Experience is a 3-D motion simulator ride that opened on January 11, 2017. It was the first Disney attraction to be based on a Marvel property.

  • The Jungle River Cruise in Hong Kong differs greatly from other Jungle Cruise attractions and features a special grand finale with angry fire and water gods. The ride is offered in three different languages: Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.

  • Mystic Manor is a Haunted Mansion-inspired trackless dark ride. Unlike other versions of the Haunted Mansion worldwide, the attraction in Hong Kong has a lighthearted, fantasy-based theme. The attraction opened on May 17, 2013.
