Time-Traveling Theme Park Opening in the U.K. in 2026

Kynren: The Storied Lands will be a new time-traveling theme park located within Kynren Park in Bishop Auckland, North East England. Phase one is planned to open in the summer of 2026. The Storied Lands is described as a “daytime attraction” that will “transport visitors through history, myth, and legend.”

“This is a game-changer for us and for the UK visitor experience market. For the past decade, we have poured passion and expertise into delivering Kynren – An Epic Tale of England, and now we are bringing that same level of scale, innovation, and magic into this new daytime attraction. You won’t just witness history – you’ll live it, feel it, and be moved by it.” – Anna Warnecke, CEO at Kynren

Phase one of The Storied Lands will feature immersive experiences and five shows:

  • Fina - A horse stunt show (adapted from the previously performed "Fina and the Golden Cape" show at Kynren)

  • The Legend of the Wear - A water stunt show based on the legend of the Lambton Worm

  • The Lost Feather - A bird show

  • A Viking Show

  • A Victorian England show

Later phases of The Storied Lands will include more shows, including The Lone Centurion, Tales of the Tudors, Conquest of the Seas, and legendary stories such as Excalibur and Robin Hood. According to the press release, the park will focus on live-action shows instead of rides.

Kynren: The Storied Lands was announced in a February 12, 2025 press release. Kynren is a historical site operated by 11Arches, a charity and live entertainment company based in Bishop Auckland. Visit the official Kynren website to learn about the park’s current attractions and latest news.
