Muppet*Vision 3D to Close as Electric Mayhem Takes Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster

Disney has announced the closure of MuppetVision 3D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The closure will make way for the new Monsters, Inc. land in Grand Avenue, including the suspended roller coaster through the door vault, previously announced at D23 2024. The new land will include dining, shopping, and a new show that looks to be located in the Grand Arts Theater, the present-day home of Muppet*Vision 3D.

Muppet*Vision 3D was one of the final projects that Muppets creator Jim Henson worked on. According to the Disney Parks Blog, Disney is “exploring ways to preserve the film and other parts of the experience for fans to enjoy in the future.”

As part of this news, Disney has announced that The Muppets will be moving to Sunset Boulevard and taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. The reimagination of the ride will feature The Muppets “teaming up with some of music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.” The concept art for the attraction poster features Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy in a stretch limo, accompanied by Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.

Muppets merchandise will be available for purchase along Sunset Bouelvard.
