Fast & Furious Coaster Under Construction at Universal Studios Hollywood
Universal Studios Hollywood has confirmed that a new Fast & Furious coaster is now under construction! The park announced the project on social media at 9 AM Pacific/Noon Eastern on Wednesday, July 12th.
Universal hasn’t provided any other information about the new coaster. Theme Park Tourist posted on July 5th about the rumored ride experience and layout. The layout suggests the coaster track will mostly be on the lower lot, but will travel to the upper lot and back down! Contributors to The Park Fans Network shared the expected full layout on June 24, 2023.
The next Fast X sequel is slated for theatrical release on April 4, 2025, so Universal could be planning to open the attraction to correspond with the new movie. Also, Los Angeles will be hosting the 2028 Summer Olympics, so the attraction will likely be part of a campaign to attract tourists to the park.
It’s possible that the Fast & Furious: Supercharged section of the tram tour may close once the new coaster is open.
