Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to Open in Late 2024 at Disneyland and Walt Disney World
Disney Parks has announced the official name for the Splash Mountain re-theme:
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
The new attraction will open at Disneyland’s New Orleans Square and at the Magic Kingdom’s current Frontierland area in late 2024. Disney made the announcement at the ESSENCE Festival of Culture in New Orleans.
So, what does this mean for the future of Splash Mountain? Typically, Splash Mountain is closed every year in January for 1-2 months of refurbishment. TouringPlans has a list of Splash Mountain’s Magic Kingdom closures dating back to 2008 and a list of Splash Mountain’s Disneyland closures dating back to 2010.
Based on these refurbishment cycles, it seems likely that Disneyland’s Splash Mountain will be the first to close in January 2023. Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom may also close in January 2023, or when the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary celebration concludes in March 2023.
