Disney Discontinues Magical Express, Introduces Early Park Entry

Today, Disney Parks made some major announcements, including the discontinuation of Disney’s Magical Express bus service to and from Orlando International Airport (MCO). The service will no longer be available starting on January 1, 2022.

It’s unclear why Disney chose to discontinue the service, but most view it as a cost-cutting measure. Unfortunately, Walt Disney World guests will now need to find their own ground transportation from the airport to their resort. The planned high-speed rail service from the airport to Disney Springs is scheduled to open in late 2023.

TouringPlans’ Len Testa pointed out that MCO may need to make some adjustments:

In other news, Disney Parks announced “Early Theme Park Entry” for resort guests as part of the 50th-anniversary celebration. The benefit will allow on-property resort guests (and other select hotels) to enter parks 30 minutes early. Because of this announcement, it seems like “Extra Magic Hours” may never return.
