Blockbuster's Failed Indoor Theme Park

Did you know that Blockbuster had an indoor theme park in the 90s?

An article from 1994 says that Block Party had a city-street theme with high-tech attractions designed for 18-to-45-year-olds, including a motion simulator ride and a high-tech maze. Ex-Disney execs Bill Burns and Fred Brooks championed the concept that opened up in Albuquerque and Indianapolis.

The concept was very similar to Disney’s “DisneyQuest,” which also failed to find an audience. ITEC Entertainment brought the concept to life and still showcases the project in its portfolio!
