We visited Laugh-O-Gram Studio in Kansas City

On a recent trip to the midwest, we stopped by the abandoned Laugh-O-Gram Film Studio building in Kansas City, Missouri.

Walt Disney founded the company on June 28, 1921, and it went bankrupt on November 20, 1923. He worked on the 2nd floor along with animation legends Ub Iwerks, Hugh Harman, Friz Freleng, and Carman Maxwell. Disney told interviewers that he was inspired to draw Mickey Mouse by a tame mouse at his desk at Laugh-O-Gram.

You can visit Laugh-O-Gram Studios at 1127 East 31st, Kansas City, MO.

Thank You Walt Disney, Inc. is raising money to turn the building into a community space, which would include a museum, studio, and co-working area.
